The Ballinskelligs Inn, hosting visitors for over one hundred years. Located on one of Ireland's premier blue flag beaches. Located just off the Ring', an hour from Killarney. Awaken to the sound of the gentle surf rolling along the beautiful sandy beach, calling you to your morning walk to the castle, or perhaps a little further to the ruins of a 12th century abbey.
After breakfast is it a golf day, chasing your ball along the dunes of the famous Waterville Links course just minutes away or is time for the unforgettable boat trip to the Skellig Rocks, the awesome monastic site just offshore? Or perhaps just a beach day, a swim, and lunch on the front lawn of the Inn, with a cup of tea or a pint. Your horizon is rimmed by the beautiful MaGillicuddy Reeks and the sea. For those in search of an artistic venue the Cill Rialaig Arts Center, "The Irish St. Ives", features visiting world class artists in residence with their works on display in the gallery just a short walk away. Perhaps grab a picnic from the Inn's deli, with a bottle of wine, and hike or cycle along the winding breathtaking "borrens" to find you own hidden oasis overlooking the crashing seascape. Celtic ruins, standing stones, cliffs, mountain trails, lookout towers and gentle walks among the wildflowers await you in this Gaeltacht or "Irish speaking" outpost.
As the long evening light approaches the Inn's famous pub life beckons. The sound of traditional Irish music, the sing along or maybe the enchantment of the Shanachie's tale of long ago while you enjoy your favorite beverage in front of the turf fire. Dinner can be found on either the family style pub menu or the more intimate setting of the Cill Reillig Room Restaurant where the Inn's chefs celebrate the natural riches of Irish land and sea. After dinner you can stroll along the beach again or relax in the pub and take in the sunset over the sea.
Whether looking for an Irish golfing paradise, artist retreat, monastic and archaeological pursuit, walking, hiking, sailing, diving, or maybe just a relaxing vacation at the beach. Spend a few nights or stay the whole summer and discover one of the last great places on earth...The Ballinskelligs Inn.
